“There is an orchestra in your footsteps. There is a piano in your spine. There is poetry in your heartbeat. Your eyelashes cast shadows like stage lighting. You will wear musical notes across your chest that warn the others that this is no small production.”
– Y.Z., Getting Better
Had a weekend getaway in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah – capital city of the other Malaysian state in Borneo Island – with my soul-friend and her wonderfully funny and adorable 1Malaysia little group of friends; they’re each of the three primary races in Malaysia – Malay, Chinese and Indian – and refreshingly open and cool about this little fun fact.
We spent Saturday evening up on a hill overlooking the city’s aerial view and also saw the craziest orange sunset, and spent Sunday snorkeling and chilling at the most beautiful (I’m told) of the three islands accessible from KK, Sapi Island.
Oh yes – I actually slept at 545 AM on Friday night (Saturday morning) because soul-friend and I spent – literally – the entire night chatting without realizing or feeling like 3.5 hours had whizzed by. Crazy! But true friends? Absolutely.
I’m now every-which-way recharged :)
